A common question that many people ask is, “does God want me to be healed?” Or “will God heal me?” They wonder what God’s Will is in terms of their healing. So, let’s start with a few Scriptures.

We look to Jesus as our perfect example. In Matthew 8:2 it says, “And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean." You might be asking the very same question, “Lord, if You want You can heal me…” We then find the Lord’s answer in the very next verse, Matthew 8:3, "And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed” (KJV). So, we see that when Jesus was approached by the man with leprosy and asked to heal him, Jesus’ immediate answer was “I will.” In the New King James Version, Jesus answers, “I am willing.” So, we know His answer for you is the same, He does want you healed.
God wants them ALL healed
There are a lot of people in this world who are sick and God wants them ALL Healed completely. How do we know God wants them healed? Because He had pre-ordained for His Son to be whipped and beaten to pay for our healing. He told us this through the prophet in Isaiah 53:5, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (KJV).
God’s plan back in the Old Testament during the time of the prophet Isaiah, was to have His Son be crucified for all of our sins but also to be whipped so that we would be Healed. Then we move forward into the New Testament and see that in 1 Peter 2:24, it says, “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed” (KJV).
Another example of God wanting to have you healed is where He says in 3 John 1-2, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” (KJV). To be in health, many people need to be healed first. So, if God wants us to be in health more than anything else, His will includes us being healed first, or it would not be possible to be in health.
All Sickness and Disease is from the devil
In John 10:10, which may people are very familiar with, Jesus says, “the thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (KJV). This proves that sickness and disease are of the devil. Stealing, killing, and destroying would be the category that sickness, disease, and poverty fit into. Those are of the devil, whereas Jesus brings life in abundance. So, we know that sickness is never from God, and it is always the work of the enemy.
1 John 3:8, we see that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. It says, “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” (KJV). What are the works of the devil? As we read in John 10:10, they are to kill, steal, and destroy and this includes sickness, disease, and poverty. Jesus came to destroy sickness, disease and poverty, so it is God’s will that everyone is healed, in good health and have all of their needs met in abundance.
What is God's will?
God’s Will is also to have earth look just like Heaven. How do we know this? Jesus taught everyone how to pray in Matthew 6:9-10, "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (KJV). Right now, earth does not look like Heaven. Heaven does not have sickness, disease, poverty, fighting, sadness, tragedies, and so on. All of these things are happening on earth everyday, so we know that God’s Will is for these things to stop and people to be healed, made whole, and everything to be peaceful.
God’s Will is that people are healed, and we see this when believers lay hands on the sick, either physically in person, or by speaking over the phone, over the internet, or through a prayer cloth.
